Fasten your seat belts! Trans American flight 209 is leaving Los Angeles for Chicago with Leslie Nielsen on board. When the pilot, copilot and numerous passengers suddenly get food poisoning in the middle of the flight, Ted Striker (Robert Hays), a former fighter pilot, has to get over his fear of flying that was caused by a psychological trauma suffered during the war, and take control of the plane, fly it to its destination, and land it in terrible weather conditions, guided by Captain Rex Kramer (Robert Stack) and air traffic controller Steve McCorsky (Lloyd Bridges), who definitely picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
