Bilal, a 17-year-old from Iranian Kurdistan has crossed the Middle East and Europe to reunite with his girlfriend, who recently emigrated to England. But his journey was abruptly interrupted when he's stopped from crossing the English Channel in France. Bilal then decides to swim the 32 kilometres and starts training in a swimming pool. There he meets Simon, a swimming instructor going through a divorce. Simon is willing to do anything to get his wife back, and risks it all to provide protection for Bilal.
