Time Out says

‘Life is full of first times that can also lead to a series of last times’: this is the theme and spirit of Charlotte Gainsbourg's most recent album, 'Rest', which the singer and actor presents July 6 at the Castell de Peralada Festival.

While making the album, Gainsbourg was inspired by the poetic nature of a person’s first steps, first words and first kisses. The resulting collection of songs is full of autobiographical references and truths. And for that, the artist and her efforts have received critical praise from media including ‘Pitchfork’, ‘The Guardian’ and ‘The Independent’, all of which have called ‘Rest’ one of the best albums of 2017. There’s an enchanting air of electronic music paired with a disturbing and mechanical tone.

After being accompanied by big-name musicians – such as Beck in Coachella and around the world, and Connan Mockasin for several years – the author of albums like 'Charlotte for Ever' and 'IRM' returns to the stage. And this time it’s a unique stage: the Auditorium at the Peralada Castle Park, an open-air space with unbeatable acoustics that has hosted ballet evenings, opera, recitals ... and now Gainsbourg. As one of her lyrics says, 'My mouth is whispering in raptures, celebrating you'.
