Guitar BCN 2016: Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club

Time Out says

It's already been 15 years since Wim Wenders's film where Ry Cooder (re)discovered musical stars like Compay Segundo, Ibrahim Ferrer and Elíades Ochoa, who'd previously been relegated to oblivion after the Cuban Revolution. In good part thanks to the international success of the movie, the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club® (as it's now officially called after a few incarnations) hasn't stopped touring the world, bringing Cuban music to every corner of the planet, including the White House, where they performed for President Obama in 2015. Now, the most famous orchestra from the Antilles are in Barcelona with stars Omara Portuondo, Manuel Guajiro Mirabal, Jesús Aguaje Ramos and Barbarito Torres, but it's a bittersweet date, since they're saying farewell with this as one of their European stops on their Adios Tour.
