Time Out says

Carnival does have its traditional and fundamental elements, and among them are the famous parades and processions that wind through Barcelona's neighbourhoods. Huge floats, troupes of players and over-the-top costumes – all choreographed and starring locals of each neighbourhood, organisations and associations from around the city – transform the streets into one big celebration.

A couple of examples are the traditional Carnafoc in the Gràcia neighbourhood (Sat 10), with a 'correfoc' (fire run) and party starting at 8pm in Plaça de Salvador Allende. In the Esquerra de l'Eixample there will also be a parade on Saturday the 10th. And from 5pm in the Urgell Civic Centre you'll find different entertainment groups from the area, including the ReperQteix 'batucada' drum group. Based on the theme of classic video games, the parade ends with traditional dances open to everyone, as well as a tempting 'xocolatada' chocolate feast.
