Hip Hop Yoga Club shares the Valentine's love: Guys fly free

  • Things to do

Time Out says

How about a spot of lovely Friday night yoga set to kickass tunes from Hip Hop Yoga's DJ? If that sounds like just the thing to you, get down to the Raval to sweat a bit and learn how to fly (safely) into inversions like handstands with the help of some friends. DJ Elin will be dishing out loved-up R&B tunes this month, in honour of Valentine's Day. And to share the love, this month is bring-a-guy-for-free night; it's like a yoga date with your best friend, your boyfriend, your barista, your barber, your brother – you get the idea.

This is Hip Hop Yoga's monthly intro to Rocket yoga workshop. Rocket is the naughty sister of Ashtanga – it's a rule-breaker that's dynamic, quick and forces you to breathe. You'll be taken through the Rocket 1 sequence, introducing you the foundations of the Rocket practice, with regular pauses to learn the building blocks of inversions like handstands and forearm stand, supported by partners to help you get in and out safely.

This class is not recommended for beginners, but if you have a regular practice or feel like you're strong enough to give it a try, you're more than welcome. In addition to the fun practice, there will also be fresh smoothies to enjoy on the spot or take home with you after class. There are a few mats available, but do bring your own if you have one.

Cost is €15 pre-booked before midnight the night before or you can show up without pre-booking and pay €20 on the night. And of course you can bring a guy for free. Feel free to email any questions.

€15 (advance), €20 (on the night)
