Time Out says

The summer Festa Major season is underway, and now it's Poble-sec's turn for its big neighbourhood party, with things to do on every day from July 13 to 22. We've made a selection of activities that are on each day to give you a starting point for getting out and having fun day and night.

Friday 13
The festival kicks off with music and a parade that ends up in Plaça Navas, where theatre arts creator Susanna Barranco gives the opening ceremony and proclamation. Dancing and fireworks follow.

Saturday 14
Festa Major traditions about, and today you can see the 25th meeting of the giants, who present themselves and dance, starting at 6pm in  Santa Madron. And when you're ready to dance yourself, head to C/ Mata-Piquer Street at 10.30pm, Plaça Navas at 11pm, or the Fabià Puigserver Gardens (for concerts) starting at 8pm.

Sunday 15
The full 'castells' (human towers) day gets underway on C/Blai in front of the Francesc Boix library, at noon. Plaça Santa Madrona is the place to be for a 'botifarra' sausage feast at 1pm or you can cool off then in Plaça Navas will their annual foam party. Later at night, the 'correfoc' ('fire run') heads out of from Plaça Navas and comes to a stop in Plaça Santa Madrona. In C/ Mata-Piquer, the Port Vell habanera group performs these traditional sailor's songs at 7pm, while 'cremat' (a hot rum drink) is served for visitors to enjoy. At 10pm, there's will be an outdoor film in the Fabià Puigserver gardens.

Monday 16
Stop by the opera and zarzuela performance in C/Blai at 8pm or enjoy the visuals of Disney’s ‘Ponyo’ anime film in Plaça del Sortidor.

Tuesday 17
In Plaça Madrona Square the Poble-sec Castellers host a grilled dinner with La Base at 7pm. Slow Food Barcelona puts on a sardine feast with live music and children's games starting at 5.30pm in the Tres Xemeneies Park. And in C/Blesa, at number 36, catch live music at 8pm.

Wednesday 18
Flamenco dancing
starts at 8pm on C/Blai, and Big Funk Theory get you shaking your groove thing at Three Xemeneies park starting at 8pm.

Thursday 19
Jam Cirkus also get in to the botifarra feast idea while concerts play at the junction of C/Elkano and C/Margarit. At 8pm the Barcelona Municipal Band perform in Plaça Santa Madrona.

Friday 20
The traditional Ball de Diables ('Dance of the Devils') gets underway at 8pm in Plaça Santa Madrona, while at Three Xemeneies park various groups play live music throughout the day, among them Diluvio, Franfarrai and DJ Bernel are set to perform. In C/ Vila i Vilà, concerts from the folks at Apolo feature Estruç, Papà Topo and Chica Barata. In the mood to move your feet to more beats? Head to C/Navas or Plaça de las Hortes.

Saturday 21
The biggest concerts are once again at the Tres Xemeneies park (Pupil·les Dilatades, Sara Hebe, Marielle, DJ La Dinde) and at Apolo (Chandal Jacket, Gramola de Pasión and mr Majestyc DJ). Other big activities for the day include a correfoc starting at 10.30pm in Plaça Navas and finishing in Plaça de Santa Madrona, habaneras with the group Mar Brava in Plaça Navas at 11pm, and a paella meal in C/Albareda at 2pm.

Sunday 22
And as usual, one of the final events is the popular Baixada de Carretons, which are home-made vehicles 'racing' down C/Fontrodona, on at 5pm. Habaneras and cremat with the Orquestra Mar i Vent in Plaça Santa Madrona at 7.30pm, and flamenco and fusion performances in C/Hortes starting at 9pm bring an end to one of the most popular annual summer festivals in town.
