Storytelling at Harlem: Hold Fast to Dreams

Harlem Jazz Club has been hosting storytelling events since 1997. Don't miss tonight's story session with Sophie Heydel, a Barcelona-based English storyteller who has been telling stories in English for English language learners for ten years. She performs in schools and adult learning centers and storytelling festivals in Europe. Tonight Heydel takes you through a dreamcatcher’s net of stories, exploring that magical mysterious moment between wakefulness and sleep, when creatures and gods creep into the shadows and show us things that can delight or terrify us. Heydel interweaves a collection of legends, myths and stories with scientific facts about why we dream and why we need to dream. This event is aimed at adults, though kids over the age of ten are welcome.
