Avi And The Uprising, Sian Evans, The Delta Crows says
Brisbane / Delhi based folk act Avi And The Uprising bring an audio-visual folktronic interpretation of their critically acclaimed folk fusion album, ‘Eyes On the Radio’ to The Milk Factory on Friday August 12, 2016, along with sets from special guests - Sian Evans and The Delta Crows.

The new Brisbane incarnation of the Avi And The Uprising band set features Avi on vocals, guitar and keys, with the live looping, turntable scratching and beat mixing of Rupert Faust aka Loopert Fast (Beanstalk Records), integrated live visual production by Craig Mathews (EntopticVJ) and Michael Colenso from DigiViz, as well as the hypnotic rhythms of aclaimed Tabla player, Ravikesh Singh.

Tonedeaf nailed a summary of A.A.T.U.’s music -
‘Damningly defiant in the face of modern music stereotyping this Brisbane/Delhi singer songwriter is paving his own way. Avi and The Uprising seamlessly merges stylistic and structural elements of classic blues and folk rock with a rich use of world instruments, and the unique sound of classical Hindustani music. Bringing the work of his critically acclaimed album ‘Eyes on the Radio’ to Brisbane presents folk fans a distinct live show firmly rooted in India’.

Avi has curated the evening with friends from Brisbane whom he enjoys playing with including Queensland music awards nominated folkie and Tamworth Toyota Starmaker finalist Sian Evans, and West End blues and music community veterans from Audreys Music - The Delta Crows.

Sian’s fantastic finger style guitar playing, soulful songwriting and stomp box action will awaken the Celtic spirits, followed by some good old solid Delta blues slide guitar action and old school rock'n'roll from the Delta Crows, with the night being brought to a close by Avi And The Uprising’s audio visual Indic folktronic experience.

Celebrate the diversity in song which reflects Brisbane’s contemporary world city vibe.

Gates Open at 8pm. Tickets available for $10 at the gate.
