Suitcase Rummage says
Here at Suitcase Rummage we've decided it's time to get crafty! As a part of our Pop Up Suitcase Rummage's at BRISBANE POWERHOUSE we are hosting a series of Art & Craft Workshops (Crafternoons) in the lovely greenery alongside the Suitcase Rummage Market.

This month, join local crafter and self confessed crochet addict, Federica Mandrioli, to learn how to make a bowl, from old tee shirts!

Not only will you learn the basics of crochet to make your bowl, but you will also learn the process of making ‘yarn’ from old tee shirts. This workshop is serious about recycling, upcycling and learning DIY creative ideas!

In this workshop you will learn basic crochet techniques, most common stitches, shaping and changing colour. Put this all together and you will leave with a beautiful and practical yarn bowl to adorn your house!

We will provide a selection of yarns and hooks to work with on the day, however you are more than welcome to bring your own along.

Who is Federica Mandrioli?

Federica was born and bred in Italy, but has been living in Australia since 2012. She confesses, she is a Crochet Addict. What started as a hobby has now taken over her life, she crochets every day!

As an artist and maker, Federica crochets items from antique recycled bottes, teapots, jars, vases, saucepans, and she transforms them into amigurumi succulents and crochet covered plant holders. She takes her inspiration from nature and gives life to new creations.

Federica sells her work at local Brisbane markets and in local independant Brisbane artisan stores. She has a passion for crochet that can not be matched! It’s an art that creates a world in which you can find peace, time for yourself and pride in your work. Federica is passionate about helping other crochet enthusiasts!
