The Milk Factory says
Sydney based alternative-pop trio GLADES combines atmospheric synthscapes, reverb- laden guitars, with complex electro pop beats, drawing comparisons with Broods, CHVRCHES, Halsey and The 1975.

Multi-instrumentalists Cameron Robertson & Joseph Wenceslao formed their musical bond writing and producing artists from home, later adding vocalist, Karina Wykes to form GLADES. The trio met during high school and had worked together on various projects before forming the group. GLADES write and produce their music internally as a unit. They now work closely with their management team ‘Saiko Management’ who were responsible for the breakout success of Lorde.

Their first official single, titled ‘Her (Loving You)’ was released on 7.10.15 and quickly garnered the attention of international fans and blogs. The song saw great success on Spotify, featuring on New Music Friday, and has since seen over 1 million streams, peaking at #12 on Spotify’s Global Viral charts and #13 on US Viral Charts. The song was also featured on Connor Franta’s ‘Common Culture’ compilation, where the release peaked at #7 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic charts.

Their second single, ‘Drive’ released on 26.1.16 secured a ‘Pigeons and Planes’ blog premiere and quickly gained momentum online. With the cosign of actor & tastemaker Chloe Grace Moretz, the song peaked at #4 on Hype Machine’s Popular charts. ‘Drive’ also had great success on Spotify, with over 20 million streams to date, being added to notable playlists such as New Music Friday, The Indie Mix, Pop Chillout, Indie Pop, and Morning Commute. Drive peaked at #16 on the Global Viral charts, #10 on the US Viral charts, and #4 on the Australian Viral charts. The trio have also gained hometown radio play on Triple J.

Following this release, Mt Eden took the opportunity to remix ‘Drive’ which then saw a premiere on one of the worlds biggest music blogs Billboard.

The trio has recently signed to EMI Records Australia and is set to release their debut EP under the Major Label.
