Green Chimneys Records presents
Black Milk (USA)
with special guests Astro Travellers and Mascon Echoes x Syntax Junkies

Touching down in Australia and New Zealand this November, hip-hop renaissance man Black Milk brings his unique brand of hard-knocking Detroit rhythm to Brisbane’s the zoo on November 18th.

Well-known in underground circles for his impeccable production, Curtis Cross aka Black Milk has been a stalwart of the Detroit scene for over a decade, releasing a steady stream of quality records both solo and in collaboration with some of the hottest MCs in the game. A discography that encompasses Pharaohe Monch, Robert Glasper, Jack White and Danny Brown speaks to the fluidity and diversity of what a Black Milk beat can be, whilst never sacrificing that edge that causes serious face-scrunching and makes the word “dope” hang around the room like a bad smell.

Not content with simply making some of the hardest beats in recent memory, any Black Milk album or live show proves just how nice he is on the mic. Underground supergroup Random Axe saw him swapping bars with heavyweights Guilty Simpson and Sean Price (RIP), while recent solo projects No Poison No Paradise and If There’s A Hell Below showed a more introspective flavour, with thought-provoking verses seamlessly gliding over dark and simmering soul samples.

Expect deep cuts with soul and bounce as GCR welcomes one of Detroit’s finest.
