The world of alt country has been waiting for the likes of Imogen Clark.

With her new single fresh from debuting at No.1 on the iTunes Country Chart, the new Lost Highway/Universal signing is hitting the road for an East Coast tour.

The 21-year-old singer/songwriter has just been added to the boutique LH roster, which boasts highly respected Americana talent including Shane Nicholson and Catherine Britt.

Take Me For A Ride is the first single off her debut album, due out later this year.

“The song is like an invitation to someone into my life, despite the warning signs that indicate trouble. Sometimes you'd rather have someone around and feel the pain that potentially comes with that, than to not have them around at all,” said Clark.

The rising alt country star cites the influences of Americana poster boy Ryan Adams and folk legend Joni Mitchell in her songwriting, which has already won her national and international recognition.

In the last three months, she has picked up major trophies at the Australian Songwriters and Tamworth Songwriters Awards and is nominated for New Oz Artist of the Year in the CMC Awards.

Having supported such artists as Daryl Braithwaite, Matt Corby, and The McClymonts, Clark is also no stranger to festival stages, having showcased at Tamworth Country Music Festival, Blue Mountains Folk Festival, and twice at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville.

Clark will launch her single at The Milk Factory in Brisbane with special guests.
