Two of the country’s most exciting and budding purveyors of garage-pop are set to unite in May as Major Leagues and Flowertruck prepare to embark on a co-headline tour to bridge the gap between Australia’s east coast capital cities. With dates locked in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, the tour is set to showcase songwriting from both bands’ 2016 EPs – Flowertruck’s Dirt (Spunk Records), and Major Leagues’ Dream States (Popfrenzy).

Brisbane garage-pop four-piece MAJOR LEAGUES have been charging in the lead-up to their sophomore EP, Dream States - released Friday April 8 via Popfrenzy Records. The EP is set to cap-off a huge 12 months of activity since the release of single ‘Someone Sometime’, which achieved triple j high rotation and extensive support from community radio stations. The band have toured extensively over the last 12 months with a headline run supporting ‘Someone Sometime’ in July, appearances on San Cisco’s 13-date national tour in September and October, and most recently with Canadian outfit Alvvays in March.

Sydney four-piece FLOWERTRUCK are a powerhouse of emotions. Having just finished a tour in support of their debut EP, Dirt, FLOWERTRUCK are set to release their debut full-length album in 2016. EP tracks include glorious upbeat jams ‘Sunshower’ and ‘Nail Gun’. Drawing influences from the likes of Talking Heads, The Smiths and The Go-Betweens, their honest melodies and song-writing is catchy and moving. FLOWERTRUCK’S massively successful first release ‘I Wanna Be With You’ won them FBI’s Unsigned Artist of the Week and Rage’s Indie of the Week.
