Born in the sunny city of Brisbane, Joshua went and bought himself a big red van, packed it full of guitars and hit the road like so many great musical troubadours before him. Setting up camp first in Sydney and Melbourne then finding himself at home in the Hinterlands of Byron Bay for a couple of years before returning back to his home soil of Brisbane. Despite making a name for himself early on fronting some serious heavy rock bands, It was the picturesque scenery of Northern NSW where he found the inspiration to focus on writing more soulful, stripped down songs, reminiscent of his musical hero’s Chris Cornel, Neil Young, Muddy waters and Johnny Cash. While fusing bluegrass elements to soul and even sprinkles of grunge it’s just him, his guitar and a set of lungs belting it out. A staunch believer in the power of the performance and utter rawness, Joshua delivers powerful emotion straight from his heart to yours. Since moving back home to Brisbane he also put together a 2 piece band, EL BRAVO which has already garnered itself a solid audience selling out their first ever show at The Bearded Lady in West End which quickly lead to a series of high level supports and gigs in the greater Brisbane and Byron area. Now living solely on a strict lifestyle of writing a minimum of one song a week, Joshua is a blues steam train gaining fast attention and praise in the songwriting community.
