Welcome to Brisbane’s The Halls: mysterious, atmospheric chambers, echoing with catchy riffs, epic live walls of sound and soaring melodies.

Tone Deaf called The Halls’ debut single ‘Lemonade’ a ‘glossy, powerful gothic pop gem’. Since its June release, the track has been added to rotation on triple j Unearthed and spun on radio worldwide.

A band of contrasts, The Halls are difficult to pigeonhole. Their follow up single ‘City Lights’ (coming early August) builds on the band’s polished, dark pop with an earthier swing; a shimmery melancholy that encapsulates late night loneliness. The track’s dreamy, wandering lyrics reflect on the determination (and occasional desperation) of ambition, while musing upon what the city itself is made of.

The Halls are pleased to announce that joining them for City Lights’ release party on August 12 will be hand-picked special guests:

|| beneb & Shady Bliss ||

beneb
beneb is the serendipitous rose growing among the rubble for Brisbane artist, Ben Mackay, after the dissolution of previous musical collaborations. Feeling lost and without a cause, beneb dealt with the break up of his previous band, which he treated like the loss of a relationship, by writing new material purely for himself, combining rock influences with the confessional introspection of singer-songwriters.

After showing friends what he’d been working on, they saw an incredible amount of potential, and he received a tremendous amount of encouragement and support from friends and industry professionals to make beneb a serious music project.

Whilst all of the parts on the records are recorded by Ben himself, the live outfit consists of:
Alistar Richardson (The Cairos, Zefereli), Bill Bingley (Hey Geronimo), Dean Gordon (Sheppard) and Guy Richards.

Since the act was formed in 2015, beneb‘s first single ‘Burning’ was added to rotation on Triple J Unearthed and his second single ‘Temporary’ was premiered by Tone Deaf and has received airplay on Triple J. The live band has supported the likes of The Belligerents, Hey Geronimo and Philadelphia Grand Jury, and also played a main stage slot at Jungle Love Festival.
