Voices Of Colour says
Voices of Colour is about creating an environment where young people who identify themselves as people of color or as First Nations people can share their stories and poetry through open mic spoken word... Spilling their reality onto the microphone and altering mindsets and perspectives through art.

This is a safe, supportive event where first-timers are encouraged to step up and have a go. Queer-friendly, trans-friendly. Each performer can have up to five minutes at the microphone. First in, best dressed.

We'll kick off around 6pm and run until 8pm or whenever the poets run out of breath.

We'll meet in the northeast corner of King George Square (known as Speakers' Corner) up behind the cafe. If it's raining, we'll shift up to the covered platform above the Pig'N'Whistle.

Free entry, all welcome. Feel free to invite your friends.
