13th Annual New Play Competition

Preview Night: February 19, 2015 February 19 - March 1, 2015 Get your ringside seats to the main event. Six local playwrights will make the Bishop Arts Theatre Center their boxing ring and battle for a $1,000 cash reward and bragging rights for a year. Audience members vote for their favorite one-act play- all six shows are staged each night (each show is no longer than 20 minutes). On closing night, we tally the votes and award the cash and prizes. Find out who will be weighing in at the heavyweight status after the submission deadline. Submission Guidelines: Remuneration: $1,000 to the winning playwright; Frequency: Annual; Length: Anticipated run time of 15-20 minutes; Style: Comedy; Author Must Be: Resident of metro Dallas; Production: No more than 4 cast members, no scene changes or blackouts; Material Must Be: Unoptioned, unproduced, and unpublished; Application: Script must be submitted electronically in PDF format - no hard copies accepted; Deadline: December 1, 2014; Response: 1 - 2 months Bishop Arts Theater 215 South Tyler Street Dallas, TX 75208 All seats $15 in advance, $20 at the door (plus service fee) General Admission seating; Showtime @ 7:30 PM nightly
