Festival of Independent Theatres says
A robust and vibrant independent theatre community will be on full display in one of the most diverse and intriguing programs ever produced in the 17-year history of the Festival of Independent Theatres.

A record number of submissions has given way to a variety filled lineup that includes plays, storytelling, historical drama, modern dance, circus acts, stage combat, a controversially titled one-man show and two special performance events: jazz musician Caleb Veazey in a tribute to the legends of Dallas jazz and Kathryn Taylor Rose in a cabaret about the pitfalls of millennial dating entitled "Love Me Tinder".

The four-week one-act play festival features shows that are each less than sixty minutes in length, performed Thursdays through Sundays in two-show blocks. This year’s festival features FIT Underground, with live music and light refreshments available on the shore level of the Bath House Cultural Center, as well as the exhibition "Irrational.City" in the Bath House galleries.

FIT was created in 1999 as an outlet for smaller companies without a permanent performance space to give them an opportunity to produce seldom seen, new, or avant-garde works. FIT exists to promote awareness and growth of Dallas area theatre through collaboration, participation and cultivation.
