Auntie Risser & The Colonel joined forces like many great duos do... drunk at a Christmas party. It was that fateful night in December when these two musicians decided what the world needed was a little bit of down-home twang and a whole lot of soul.

Blending the essence of funk, soul, and R&B with the flavor of porch-stompin country, and a dash of The Carpenters for good measure, Auntie Risser & The Colonel debuted to great acclaim on December 28, 2013 at The Liquid Lounge in Deep Ellum, Dallas, TX with a stirring rendition of Prince's "When Doves Cry". With The Colonel on vocals and acoustic guitar and Auntie's haunting harmonies floating up in the ether, these two are on a mission to enlighten the masses and bring their distinct sound to a people in need of some churchin'. Praise the Lord and Pass the Funk.

BJ Stricker and The Kings of State Street
BJ Stricker writes songs. Always has. And after countless years, miles, cities, and near-empty open mic nights, those songs finally began to settle into their natural context in the outskirts of Dallas, TX. While in the studio working on his debut EP, Middle of the City, BJ finally began to grasp the bigger picture his music was starting to paint.

Working with some of the best musicians, producers, and engineers Dallas has to offer, the sound he'd been chasing began to coalesce in a way that offered a clear direction towards something more than the songwriter's life he'd lived up to that point. Carrying his newfound appetite for collaboration and abandoning the solo mentality he'd identified with for so long, BJ left the studio pressing forward towards a new future for his music with The Kings of State Street.
