Evoking quintessential American confessionals like Prince's masterpiece Purple Rain, which its title directly pays homage to, Rural Pain finds the boys in dark times. Luckily, struggle never sounded so good." - Cole Garner Hill Baby Blood Denton free jazz duo Wire Nest Wire Nest is a collaboration between Frank Cervantez and John Nuckels. Their music, while steeped in dub, also borrows elements from ambient, electronica, Krautrock, and dance music. In live performance, Cervantez uses his effect-laden guitar to create fields of color and texture, which Nuckels combines with the output from an array of electronic devices to create spontaneous arrangements. They integrate their sound with visual projections to create a total sensory experience -- a psychedelic art music for the 21st century.
