To most of the world Mac Powell is well known as front man for the Grammy winning Christian rock band Third Day. He’s been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, won 26 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, scored more than two dozen hit singles and earned countless other accolades, but as friends and family will attest, one of the industry’s most acclaimed rockers has always been just a country boy at heart.

So naturally when he decided to step out and record his first solo project, it’s a country album.

"Like just about everybody else in the south, I grew up listening to country music," Mac says, "and it was a big part of shaping me musically. I think that’s pretty evident in Third Day music. The influence has always been there."

Mac’s warm, distinctly textured vocals have always anchored Third Day’s award-winning sound, and the soulfulness that propelled dozens of Christian rock hits finds a comfortable new home in the country format.

In fact, Mac’s blend of country boy charm fortified with a little rock edge is a timely addition to country radio when artists like Jason Aldean and Eric Church are drawing a younger demographic to country music with their high octane brand of country.
