Natural Dyes, A Workshop In Conjunction With Tierra Firme

This natural dye workshop is held in conjunction with the Tierra Firme exhibition currently on display at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. Participants will experiment dyeing with accessible food items such as avocado pits, hibiscus flowers, and black beans to get a range of beautiful colors from pink, magenta, purple, and grey. All participants will explore tie-ing and dyeing techniques on raw silk and will leave with a dye notebook and swatches to take. Workshop is free and open to ages 15 and older, but space is limited.
