North Texas Pit Bull Pride Event says
North Texas Pit Bull Pride is DFW’s celebration of “National Pit Bull Awareness Day”, which was created in 2007 by Jodi Preis, founder of Tennessee rescue Bless the Bullys. Jodi’s vision was to host a huge event that could help educate people about pit bull-type dogs and change public perception of them, while helping bring awareness of local organizations that support the dogs. In October each year, more and more events are popping up across America. In 2014, almost every major city along with many small towns across America hosted events celebrating NPBAD…likewise, recurring events like the one in North Texas have experienced a significantly higher turnout every year.

Paws in the City and Operation Kindness, are the two all breed rescues, along with several pit bull rescues, who are the primary partners with North Texas Pit Bull Alliance for this event. A portion of the proceeds from the day will be donated to Paws in the City
