He and Eminem met early in both of their careers and built a close relationship that eventually led to forming the rap duo Bad Meets Evil. After deciding to go their separate ways, Royce pursued his career as a solo artist and recorded tracks for the “Grand Theft Auto” video game soundtrack. He went on to expand his musical network by working with The Alchemist, DJ Premier, Statik Selektah as well as gaining the attention of Nas. In 2009, Royce collaborated with Joe Budden, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz to form the hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse. Together the group released their self-titled album and signed to Eminem’s label, Shady Records. Following this, Royce and Eminem reunited and Bad Meets Evil released an album after a long hiatus. Royce has now partnered up with another colleague from earlier in his career, DJ Premier, forming PRhyme. Their debut, self-titled album can be streamed and downloaded above. Also watch the video for “Courtesy.” DJ Premier Born in Houston Texas, DJ Premier began developing his skills as the campus DJ during his time at Prairie View A&M University. He also was half of the influential hip-hop duo Gang Starr. As mentioned above, he’s now half of the duo PRhyme. Check out their music above.
