The Marlon Riggs Arts Festival, formerly The Marlon Riggs Film Festival, is a multidisciplinary arts festival is inspired by the work of award-winning Fort Worth activist/filmmaker, Marlon Riggs. This year the festival will address the complexity of Black Queer Lives and Criminalization. Our cultural worker in residence for this year is Charles Stephens, Director of the Counter Narrative Project. The mission of The Counter Narrative Project is to amplify the voices of black gay men. CNP is committed to cultural change as a vehicle for social change and approach our work through an asset-based framework. CNP's work is rooted in the belief in the power of stories to change hearts and minds and to change society.
