Aaron Walker Quartet says
Featuring Eugene Simon on Bayan

Aaron Walker has the reputation for being the orneriest musician around. Whatever the musical convention is, he will find a way to tweak it just enough to delight the audience.

Aaron earned a few boring degrees from prestigious institutions that no one really cares about. After that period in his life, he pursued a real music education through performing with his musical heroes such as Joscho Stephan, Olli Soikkeli, Robin Nolan, Bjorn Thoroddsen, Jason Anick, Ben Powell, Gonzalo Bergara, Greta Salome and recording a Gypsy/rap project with Kenyan music stars The Kleptomaniax.

Wishing to enter into the pantheon of great Gypsy jazz guitarists, Aaron pursued the venerable Gypsy jazz guru Gonzalo Bergara for formal studies. Gonzalo filled his mind and heart with such wonderful nonsense that he immediately formed the Aaron Walker Quartet to share the beautiful whimsy that is growing in his heart.

Eugene's bio:

When Eugene plays his Bayan (button accordion), his audience is mesmerized as his music elicits dramatic stories of passionate romances, epic tales of vengeance and redemption, and warm feelings of being by a fireplace in a Russian cottage.
Eugene is a musician's musician, having the most prestigious education from Russia Conservatories. He was distinguished in his unique ability to pick up whatever music was given him, earning him the laureate contest diploma at the Kaluga Conservatory. This led him naturally to attending the prestigious Sobinav conservatoire.

Upon graduating from the conservatory Eugene had a whirlwind career in Russia and Europe as a conductor, soloist, and clinician. Though the opportunities for him were endless, he ultimately decided he wanted to bring his passion for the Bayan to the States.
