The story of this Springsteen tribute show traces back to October 2009 when Tori Pater put together a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute show in Denver called "Tori Pater & The Heartbreakers" featuring an all star band of local musicians to celebrate his birthday. Having recently relocated from Atlanta, Mark Brut decided it would be a good tradition to try to carry on and organized a similar show in July 2010 as a tribute to Bruce Springsteen, "Brut Springsteen & the B Street Band." Several other Denver musicians have continued this tradition in recent years including Eric Martinez who did a Neil Young tribute several years also.

The initial Springsteen show was a rousing success which led to two encore performances in Vail and Steamboat Springs in early 2011. Since that time, there have been occasional conversations between the musicians involved centering around "we should do that again sometime." Now six years later, the musicians involved in this project are finally reconvening to revisit these shows in Denver.
