Dick Weissman: A Performance Weaving Music And Stories From His New Memoir “The Music Never Stopped” says
This unique show celebrates Dick’s new memoir: The Music Never Stopped, as well as a brand new CD Night Sky. The concept for this performance is to weave together instrumental pieces and songs into stories from the book, which celebrates musicians with whom Dick has interacted in his long musical career. These sages range from the humorous to the tragic, and involve a wide range of musicians, from John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin to John Phillips, Reverend Gary Davis, Townes Van Zandt and Doc Severinsen.

Dick is known for his innovative banjo and guitar compositions and performances, and has written songs recorded by such artists as Every Mother’s Son, Merv Griffin, Peter, Paul & Mary and Judy Collins. He has also had an active career as a studio musician and record producer, has placed songs and instrumentals on television and in independent movies. He taught in the music industry program at the University of Colorado at Denver, and has written or co-authored twenty two books about music and the music business.
This show will include a few surprises, and after the show there will be an additional thirty minute question, comments and answer session where concert attendees can discuss the stories and the music with the performer.
