Melancholic Longing says
DENVER, COLORADO, April 22nd, 2016, 3 PM - ALEXIS CLEMENTS (author of Last in the Woods) will appear at Mutiny Information Café on South Broadway to speak and sign copies of her books, to be followed by a dialogue with interested listeners to her presentation.

Last in the Woods is a psychic and emotional memoir about childhood revisited told in photographs with prose interplay, alternating between the Jekyll and Hyde of word and image, its wooded backdrop alternately both star and villain of its unfoldment. Says Clements, “All the books, movies, visual art and music I find myself drawn to are threaded together by a love of longing. Last in the Woods begins in saudade, a Portuguese term I am so thankful to have, as no others describe the beauty I find in the melancholic . . . This work is meant to be seen as a psychodrama where the convergence of memory and reality begin to weave narratives of an unknown inner life.”
