Music In The Galleries: Altius Quartet says
The Clyfford Still Museum is excited to welcome back the Altius Quartet this Friday evening. Enjoy free admission (5-8 p.m.) and music in style at the museum that critic Michael Kimmelman of the The New York Times calls "the best in town."

Altius Quartet, the Fellowship String Quartet-In-Residence at the University of Colorado Boulder, will be in the galleries performing Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 14 in C# minor, Opus 131. Still played the piano and was a Beethoven enthusiast who described his own paintings as individual symphonies similar to the renowned composer's work.

One of eight string quartets selected worldwide to compete at the Seventh Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, Altius has been described as "rich" and "captivating" by the award-winning music blog I care if you listen (.com). Dynamic performers, Altius has a full performance schedule, at venues including Carnegie Hall. We're honored to have them in our galleries this weekend!

Music in the Galleries is a Clyfford Still Museum partnership with the Friends of Chamber Music Denver and Swallow Hill Music that presents live music in the galleries performed as a new way to experience Still's work through both sight and sound. Look, listen, enjoy.

Music in the Galleries is free with admission, and no advance registration is required.
