Brian Bress: Make Your Own Friends
Critical Focus: Lanny DeVuono
Laura Shill: Phantom Touch
Arne Svenson: The Neighbors

This winter, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) welcomes to its galleries four artists: Brian Bress, Lanny DeVuono, Laura Shill, and Arne Svenson. Solo presentations of each artist’s work open at the museum with a celebration on February 19, 2016, and run through late spring. A survey of Bress’s work includes video, sculpture, and works on paper. DeVuono’s new Here and Elsewhere series transports viewers to an imagined extraterrestrial landscape. For her exhibition, Shill will create a site-specific, soft-sculpture installation as well as present several photo-based works. Finally, Svenson’s 2012 photographic series, The Neighbors, considers the significance of privacy in the 21st century at the same time that it celebrates the cinematic drama of everyday life. Together, these exhibitions offer a glimpse at the range of contemporary artists’ practice today.
