The northern lights tours, organised around the spring equinox, will be available to book at the beginning of March

Uber is launching the world’s first Uber Aurora northern lights rides in Finland this March. They offer both locals and travellers an easy way to join a guided tour and see the aurora borealis.
The rides will take place around the spring equinox on 20-21 March, when northern lights activity is often at its peak. 2026 is expected to be an exceptional year for auroras due to intense solar activity, so the chances of seeing the northern lights around the 2026 spring equinox are excellent.
‘The Northern Lights are one of the world’s most iconic bucket-list experiences, drawing travelers to Lapland from across the globe. With Uber Aurora, we’re proud to help more visitors and locals witness this extraordinary natural phenomenon and experience the Arctic at its most magical.,’ says Sanni Nummi, Uber’s Country Manager for Finland.
The Uber Aurora experience is a free six to eight-hour northern lights tour. The selected partner guides are experienced local experts in auroras, know the region’s best scenic spots and are happy to share photography tips, too. The tours are organised in collaboration with experience provider Arctic GM.
Bookings open in the Uber app on 5 March at 14.00. Places are limited, so it pays to be quick. Here’s how to book: open the Uber app, go to Account → Inbox, and continue via the link to make your reservation.
