If fireworks make your dog nervous, here’s the perfect plan: Clarion Hotel Aviapolis in Vantaa is once again hosting a bang-free New Year’s Eve. Firework use is restricted near the airport, meaning even four-legged guests can celebrate in peace. This year, the hotel will welcome 271 dogs to see in the New Year.

Pets are treated to welcome snacks in their rooms and can tuck into a festive buffet created by Finnish brand Dagsmark. On offer is a canine feast complete with fish cakes, hot dogs and dipping vegetables. After dinner, the fun continues on an agility course, with dog dancing and even a magician’s tricks to marvel at.

'Many dog owners have been spending New Year with us for the tenth time already. Dogs are welcome here all year round, not just on New Year’s Eve,' the hotel reminds us.

Clarion Aviapolis also hosts Happy Dog breakfasts during public holidays and plans to expand the concept next year.

'We want to offer more opportunities for people to enjoy a hotel breakfast together with their four-legged family members,' says the hotel’s general manager Jorma Pekkala.
