Helsinki is turning the year change into a city-wide celebration once again. On December 31 Kansalaistori will transform into a giant party arena, with Ares, Erika Vikman and KAJ taking to the stage. Warming up the crowd before midnight will be DJ Pahkala, starting at 22.15. The show will be hosted by Jaana Pelkonen and Christoffer Strandberg, and Mayor Daniel Sazonov will deliver the traditional New Year’s speech.

The evening kicks off at 17 with a New Year’s celebration just for kids, when Hevisaurus storms the stage. A family-friendly pyro show at 18 rounds off the early evening, while the main concert begins at 22.30 and continues all the way to the midnight fireworks. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch the show live on Nelonen and Ruutu.

It’s worth arriving early and being prepared for traffic disruptions in the area. Read more detailed traffic information and practical guidance.
