Time Out says

RAGTIME tells the sweeping and connecting stories of three groups during the early years of 20th Century America: African-Americans, represented by Coalhouse Walker Jr., a Harlem musician; upper class suburbanites, represented by Mother, the matriarch of a white, upper-class family from New Rochelle, NY; and Eastern European immigrants, represented by Tateh, a Jewish immigrant from Latvia. Featuring a Tony Award-winning score complete with marches, cakewalks, gospel and ragtime, a cast of over 30, and his-torical figures such as Houdini, Evelyn Nesbit, J.P. Morgan, Booker T. Washington, Henry Ford, Admiral Perry and Emma Goldman, RAGTIME promises to become one of our large-scale signature musicals for years to come.
