This three-gallery retrospective exhibition is part of a 2016 collaboration with multiple museums to honor pre-Disney leaders in the arts (1932-1982). Grady Kimsey is one of Central Florida’s most accomplished artists and most popular arts educators. A sculptor, ceramicist and painter, with eight decades of life experiences, Kimsey was awarded his BFA in 1950 from the University of Tennessee and his master’s in education in 1969 from Rollins College. He retired after a 25-year career at Seminole Community College, and his work is in the collections of Florida’s top museums and the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C.

The title of the main exhibition is "The Right of Passage, Works from the 1940s to the Present" and features Kimsey’s most recent work and his older work dating to 1949 at The Alice & William Jenkins Gallery and the Showalter Hughes Community Gallery on the Crealdé main campus.

A second exhibition titled "Progressions, Works by Former Students" reflects the spectrum of Grady Kimsey’s mentorship, and features select works by the artist alongside current work by his former students, including Paula Peterson, Paula Pell, Henry Sinn, Randall Smith, Cheryl Smith, Kyle, Pam Coffman, Jay Spalding, Carlos Richmond, Melissa Kimsey-Hickman, Greg Freeman, Cindy Freeman, Marty Whipple and Lynn Warnicke at Crealdé's Hannibal Square Heritage Center.
