Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park says
The Breakthrough Theatre of Winter Park will hold auditions for a musical revue, "Whistle A Happy Tune: A Salute to Rodgers and Hammerstein" on:

Saturday, May 2, 1-3 p.m. OR
Sunday, May 3, 6-8 p.m.

Richard Rodgers (1902–1979) and Oscar Hammerstein II (1895–1960) were an influential, innovative and successful American musical theatre writing team, usually referred to as Rodgers and Hammerstein. They created a string of popular Broadway musicals in the 1940s and 1950s, initiating what is considered the "golden age" of musical theatre.

The revue will feature songs from Oklahoma, Carousel, State Fair, Allegro, South Pacific, The King and I, Pipe Dream, Cinderella, Me and Juliet, Flower Drum Song, and The Sound of Music.

The musical will be held for 3 weekends:
June 12-15, 19-22, 26-29
(Fridays, Saturdays, Mondays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.)

The musical will be directed by Wade Hair.

We are looking for 5 men, 5 women, and 7 kids (5 girls and 2 boys).

To audition, prepare 16-32 measures of both an uptempo song and a ballad written by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Please have your song on a CD or IPod. There will not be a piano accompanist.

No appointments. Just show up anytime between the hours listed above. Unpaid.

Rehearsal Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, May 18-21, 7-10 p.m.
Saturday, May 23, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Monday-Thursday, May 25-28, 7-10 p.m.
Saturday, June 30, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Tuesday-Thursday, June 2-4, 7-10 p.m.
Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Monday-Thursday, June 8-11, 7-? (tech week)
