Young Artists Group Orlando says
A game of chance is defined as any game where a randomizing element plays a large role in the outcome. This could be as simple as choosing heads or tails, or it might involve rolling dice, picking a card, or moving left instead of right. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, many artists have embraced the role of chance in the process of creating works of art. Aleatoric art (from the Latin word alea, meaning "dice") is art in which some element of the composition is left to chance. Embracing the random and accidental in our art making can offer a way to let go of conscious control and trust the creative process. In this workshop, students will create small collages, drawings, and paintings through various games of chance. We will look to the work of the Dadaists and the composer John Cage for inspiration.

Art educator, Jenn Benner will lead the class and materials will be supplied, however bring your own if you prefer.

Participating young artists (ages 15-21) are invited to submit their work for the April exhibit at no charge. All work displayed should be priced for sale. Visit
