Future Legend At The 2017 Orlando Fringe says
Coming to the 2017 Orlando Fringe Festival, False Self Theater Company’s first production Future Legend is an out of this world glam rock science fiction musical unlike anything you’ve seen before. Writer Corey Volence (Space, Key of E) has teamed up with director Kevin Becker (Phantasmagoria, True West) to bring this new vision to life on the Fringe stage May 18th through the 28th in a gender bending, space tripping, intergalactic adventure inspired by the work of David Bowie.

Orlando Fringe favorite Tod Kimbro (Dumpster Cats, Blue & Tod: In The Black) stars as The Herald, a mysterious and enigmatic alien rock star that comes to Earth and changes it in ways the human mind can barely comprehend.

Using state of the art tech and imaginative design, Future Legend creates a world that challenges the boundries of what's possible on the Fringe stage. Director Kevin Becker has created a striking transmedia landscape for the show. Becker is designing a “living music video” style for the piece alongside producer Chaz Krivan, the man behind the projection work in the sci-fi sleeper hit Space, which won the 2016 Orlando Fringe award for Best Technical Achievement. Kyla Swanberg of Varietease fame is providing the otherworldly costume design, pulling influence from both the fashion of Bowie himself and the world of 70’s-80’s Space Opera sci-fi.

Musical Direction is being handled by Orlando music scene mainstay Mark McDowell, leading a live band of intergalactic rockers made up of some of Orlando's most talented musicians. Choreographer/Theatrical Movement specialist Becky Lane will be helping to bring an avant-garde flair to the proceedings.

All photos seen were done, visualized and conceived by the incomparable Beaureguarde Von Hoffman. Walter Lowe (Space, Key of E) has done all Video for this ambitious soon to be ground breaking show on the fringe stage.

For fans of David Bowie, science fiction storytelling, or boundary pushing Fringe theater, Future Legend is a can’t miss production.
