An Evening Yoga Workshop with Steve's teacher Paul Dallaghan

80 minutes of led Yoga (Asana) class. (All levels)

Asana is a wonderful practice, something you can, and should be able to, do all your life. However, what you do at different stages and ages will vary. It is important to learn the technique and method. Beyond that asana should serve you. Go with it gracefully over the years. It must also balance with the other practices of pranayama and meditative technique, again to support and not use up energy in a misdirected way. You can do the asanas and find the balance of joy and benefit at a deep level. Paul will offer years of experience of navigating through full Ashtanga and vinyasa practices as well as the classic Kaivalyadham and Sivananda techniques that forerun yin. The aim is to enlighten your own practice so you can go home and continue it with joy and enthusiasm, whatever approach to practicing asana you may take.

70-80 minutes of guided breathwork (Pranayama)

Before a practice like pranayama can be explored the correction of breath and posture must be attended to. One of the most common irregular patterns today is incorrect and inefficient breathing with very little knowledge of how to correct it. This session will begin to explore this subject while highlighting the key factors necessary in a supportive sitting posture.

20-30 minutes of discussion on Yoga and practice.
