Winter Park Institute says
LeVar Burton spans the generations through his acting and activism—from Kunta Kinte in Roots (1977) to Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-94, 2002) and Reading Rainbow (1983-2009). Burton will share his life’s narrative and highlight the mentors, including Rollins’s well-loved Fred Rogers, who most influenced how his own story took shape.

Due to the wide popularity of the LeVar Burton event, we have changed the location to Warden Arena in Alfond Sports Center (capacity 3000).

Doors will open at 6:30 and seating is on a first-come basis. Mr. Burton has agreed to sign only The Rhino Who Swallowed A Storm after the event, and books will be sold in the lobby before and after his talk as long as supplies last.
