Time Out says

The antithesis to casual has arrived, and it's bringing back 1950s class to cocktail hour – say hello to the CBD's new, old-world lounge bar

Halford is the second Perth venture from John Parker, owner of The Standard in Northbridge. Honouring the middle name of Parker’s father, it's a labour of love that takes the idea of a 1950s lounge bar and rehashes the concept with an up-to-date spin. Parker, who was previously involved with Melbourne's Gin Palace and Madame Brussels, has an eye – and respect – for era-appropriate design, incorporating the original features of what was the basement safe room of the old Titles Office into what is now Halford Bar. Check out the rainbow-like fluoro theatre lighting, gold swan statues, marble surfaces and lashings of sumptuous velvet. Premium bubbles, wine and spirits are the order of the day, with a tight cocktail list (try Halford's signature Martini: Tanqueray 10, Lillet Blanc and apricot brandy rinse), decent beer repertoire, and grown-up jaffles for when hunger strikes.

This venue welcomes American Express
