Friday 8 August, 5 - 8pm
FREE EVENT

Explore PICA’s Radical Ecologies exhibition after dark for a night of sensory delight and epic encounters. Internationally acclaimed bio-artist Stelarc will be performing his new work Re-Wired / Re-Mixed: Event for Dismembered Body live in the gallery until 7pm. This augmented robotic performance sees the artist seeing with the “eyes” of someone in London and hearing with the “ears” of someone in New York, whilst the general public in the gallery and online generate involuntary movement of his right arm. Local electronic musician Mei Saraswati will also be performing on the night, layering her atmospheric samples and soulful vocals into a tribal synth-pop set.

Performance Times:

Stelarc 1-7pm
Mei Saraswati from 7pm

This event is sponsored by Little Creatures

Sensorial and highly experimental Radical Ecologies is an exhibition that asks us to question our complex relationships with our own bodies, each other and the natural world. Featuring new work by Western Australian artists practicing at the sharpest edge of contemporary practice, Radical Ecologies acknowledges our continued environmental dystopia and in response offers a range of therapeutic experiences.
