About the Artist

Lydia Trethewey is an artist living and working in Perth, Western Australia. Her practice focuses on travel and daydream, and how these can lead to sensations of quotidian-sublimity. Working with photographic and print based processes, Lydia aims to make work which acts as a hinge between invisible and visible and offers a point of contact between tactile and intangible spaces.

Lydia is currently undertaking a PhD in fine art at Curtin University. She has had work exhibited at Perth Centre for Photography, the China Academy of Art and Free Range Gallery. Lydia has presented her research at conferences in Australia, the UK and China.
