Better Suburbs = Better Cities says
With the State Government’s suite of strategic land use planning documents for Perth and Peel soon to be finalised, the substantial task of implementing the plans will begin.

Achieving density in Perth’s CBD and inner city areas has been the focal point of much media and public policy attention in recent times, however have we lost sight of the broader goals? Are we forgetting the value of the suburbs and the important economic contribution metropolitan and regional centres play in the liveability of our city? What public policy measures are needed to ensure we achieve greater medium density outcomes, a balanced approach to densification and effective activation of key centres?

Join us for the UDIA September Luncheon, as we explore how the government will lead and drive implementation of its strategic plans, particularly in terms of gaining buy-in from the community, achieving cross-governmental support and coordination of infrastructure. Hear first-hand discussions as we unpack what is required to stimulate activity centres and densification across the metropolitan area and how we deliver an appropriately dense, connected, liveable city for all.
