Food For Thought says
Food for Thought is a monthly dinner that hopes to raise funds to support detained or recently settled asylum seekers through the celebration of food, culture and the sharing of stories. Every third Thursday of the month a new community will come together and cook for 40 guests in a welcoming, comfortable and friendly environment.

RRAN and Centre for Stories join together to make this night possible. We are a social enterprise that employs refugee and asylum-seeker men and women. The dinners recognise and pay them for the skills they have cultivated in the home.

Food for thought offers an opportunity for refugees on bridging visas to get involved in the community, learn some basic kitchen skills, gain some hospitality experience and meet good people in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

We would love to see you there, and we appreciate your donation to help us along. If the cost of the ticket is stopping you from coming along, please email us and we'll do our best to reserve a seat for you.

For our second evening on Thursday 21st April, our head chef, will be Ali, a charismatic, community-oriented 18 year old photographer, who since arriving in Australia has volunteered his time to a number of worthy causes. He and some friends will cook up a feast of Pakistani foods and share stories from home and beyond.

Please support us and people who remain in immigration detention and be rewarded with great food, fantastic company and a lovely night out.

We hope to see you there!
