We’re a little mad about hops at Little Creatures, they’re in our DNA after all and it’s seeking out the many and glorious ways that we can extract their deliciousness and blend them with carefully selected malts that drives us to keep exploring their seemingly unlimited palate potential. It was this very obsession that instigated our brewers to prod our Single Batch range out of hibernation and then load it up with a heap of hops…
In fact, there were so many hops we wanted to explore that we couldn’t keep it to just one Single Batch. We needed a whole series; a “Very Hoppy Ale” (VHA) series to be exact. Each release will showcase different hops and beer styles that are truly hop-centric.
So what’s first out of the tanks? “VHA – Double IPA”. For those who remember and loved our 2011 Single Batch “Big Dipper”, you’ll be chuffed to learn that this was indeed the inspiration for our inaugural VHA. And even better still, we’re putting it in a 640ml Single Batch bottle that you can share with fellow Hop Heads.
We’re delirious with the use of 7 of our favourite varieties coming together in sweet, hoppy harmony. A bucket load of Columbus, Cascade, Chinook and Ella in the brewhouse have then been fused together with a copious dry hopping regime of Citra, Centennial & Simcoe. The result is a big, bold, Double India Pale Ale that’ll give any seasoned Hop Head the lupulin hit they’re looking for.
