HIGH HORSE says
For several years now, High Horse has been the unabashed 90’s inspired rock outlet for WA songwriter Timothy Nelson. Now, with a growing collection of songs recorded by the band in their jam room, as well as at Blackbird Studios with Dave Parkin, the lads have finally assembled a handful of rock bangers for their debut EP, which the lads will launch at Amplifier Bar, Saturday May 7th with support from Pat Chow, and more to be announced.

Depicting the particularly bleak experience of becoming reacquainted with public transport, D.U.I takes stabs at both the recklessness of youth and the disenchantment of modern suburbia. “It’s a little like Parklife I guess,” says Nelson “but without the university degree.”

“Took a stride when I lost my ride
For a D.U.I. on the Mandurah line
If I sighed it was only pride
‘cause I don’t reside where I wish to die”

Coming in at three-and-something minutes, the band’s love of You Am I, Oasis and Jebediah shine through a wall of guitars and frenetic drums recorded mostly live at a rehearsal room in Perth, with the help of Matt Cammarano and Jozef Grech.
