It took only short 2 years for the UK's Stuart Howard to take his LAPALUX project right to the top of the endlessly crowded beat scene. Joining the legendary Flying Lotus headed Brainfeeder family soon after the release of his first few tracks, he went on to become a producer that defined a sound and a place in modern electronic music.

At just 23 he's already a regular fixture at the most forward thinking electronic music festivals this planet has to offer, appearing live at Outlook Festival, Bloc, Melt, and anywhere else you may have been lucky enough to visit on your earth bound explorations.

Often taking inspiration from old film soundtracks, and dusted up tape loops, he's resting on 2 (two!) impeccably constructed full length albums, Nostalgic (2013), and the gentle, quietly violent sounds of the brand new 'Lustmore'. With a sold out show at The Bakery (Perth) last time he hit our shores, it's about time we had him back.

New album 'Lustmore' is an ode to the hypnagogic state – floating in a dream of happiness, euphoria and faux-consciousness. Taking the best bits from the chrome polish of modern day R&B & the subtle nuances of the years best ambient works, a lust filled, beautiful, but often dark & shifting landscape emerges. Its vibrant artwork – a fizzing cocktail within a sea of mirrors and picturesque spotlights – is reflective of the sensual, woozy emotions within.

From the gritty lo-fi juke sounds of 1004, to the acidic droplets and stretched out vocals of Funny Games, to the all-out, abrasive, new-skool adventure of Make Money (and we'll we're talking about the abrasive tracks, let's not forget those #trill as f**k Young Thug edits he put out a while ago) ~ Lustmore, becomes a uniquely retro-futuristic, cinematic experience.

“Whenever I think about the album I think about the bar scene in The Shining,” explains the electronic mastermind. “There’s something about that strange, hallucinatory, psychological madness that relates to the music.”

See you in the dance for a dude that's on the lips of every young producer, first as an influence, and now a bonafide musical hero.

Thnx :)
